computer security

There is no such things as a totally secure environment, think of a bank vault, if someone wants to get in bad enough, they probably will. The objective is to take precausions and put in place security measures to deter the act or be able to detect the attempts when it is occurring.

The same applies for any data network or IT system. The principles of technology security management aim to reduce the risk to the business to an acceptable level. It is therfore imperative to any business to have controls in place to mitigate these risks.

Technology threats can generally be catorgorised in two catorgories, benign (harmless) or malicious. Malicious threats are what need to be prevented and if present, removed. Malicious threats are designed and intended to access confidential or commercial in confidence data (hacking) they hamper ability to perform normal functions (such as denail of service attacks) or even just to annoy (adware).

We can offer a wide range of services for preventative implementation, to threat detection, evaluation and remedy, some of which are detailed below.

Intrusion detection and prevention to actively look for intrusion and malicious software

Penetration testing to validate that known vulnerabilities are addressed.

Internal and external network security review to ensure that applied controls are reviewed to be current and effective.

Anti-virus protection, to ensure that the latest versions of signature files and protection are in place.

Firewall protection to deny all traffic and only explicity permit legitimate traffic

Encryption for word documents, phone systems and unique identification security measures to help minimize loss of valuable information
